Technology

When choosing a dentist, it’s essential to find one who uses the latest technology. This not only ensures that you’ll receive the best possible care, but it also means that you’ll be able to benefit from the latest advances in dental technology.

Here at Heathwood Smiles, we understand that quality dental care is essential for overall health and wellbeing. That’s why we’re committed to investing in the latest technology and equipment to meet the needs of our patients.

Same-day cosmetic dental procedures with our CEREC machine

At Heathwood Smiles, we are proud to offer our patients the latest in cosmetic dental technology with our state-of-the-art CEREC machine.

A CEREC machine is a computer-controlled machine fabricating dental prosthetics such as crowns, bridges, and implants. It uses a milling process to create replicas of the patient’s teeth from a block of ceramic material.

The CEREC machine is an advanced piece of dental technology that offers several advantages over traditional methods of manufacturing dental prosthetics.

First, it is much faster than traditional methods. Second, it is much more accurate, meaning that the finished product will fit the patient’s mouth more snugly and comfortably. Finally, ceramic material provides a more natural look and feel than other materials such as porcelain or metal.

As a result, the CEREC machine is quickly becoming the preferred method for fabricating dental prosthetics.

It uses computer-aided design to create a precise and accurate fit. This results in a crown that looks and feels more natural than one made with traditional methods. In addition, the CEREC machine produces crowns in a single visit, so you won’t have to schedule multiple appointments or wait weeks for your new crown to be ready. As you can see, there are many reasons to choose a dentist with a CEREC machine.

The results are incredibly lifelike and natural looking and can be completed in a single office visit. The CEREC machine can provide our patients with the highest quality care and the best possible results. If you are considering cosmetic dentistry, we encourage you to come for a consultation to see what the CEREC machine can do for you.

With CEREC, we manufacture near-instant crowns, veneers, bridges and implants and can restore

  • broken teeth
  • missing teeth
  • discoloured teeth
  • crooked teeth

CEREC means our patients don’t experience long wait times and uncomfortable temporary teeth while waiting weeks for a lab.

Non-invasive oral scanning

Heathwood Smiles also uses a mobile intra-oral scanner, which records exact 3D images of the mouth without the need for unpleasant impression pastes.

With it, we make effective and easy impressions on children and simple and quick mouthguards for sports, splints or night guards.

Heathwood Smiles boasts our very own OPG machine with lateral Cephalograph, facilitating instant full-mouth X-Rays. It is a powerful onsite diagnostic tool for orthodontic treatment, teeth straightening and wisdom teeth removal. With us, you can save precious time and money by not travelling to another centre for X-Rays.

So whether you’re due for a routine cleaning or need more complex treatment, you can rest assured that you’re in good hands with the team at Heathwood Smiles.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the CEREC machine?

The CEREC machine is a computer-controlled milling machine that cuts and shapes ceramic materials. It is often used to create custom dental prosthetics, such as crowns and bridges. The CEREC machine uses a rotating diamond cutting tool to grind away at the ceramic material.

The diamond cutting tool is controlled by a computer, which means that it can create very precise shapes and patterns. The CEREC machine is also equipped with a scanning device that allows it to create an exact three-dimensional copy of the desired object.

This makes it possible to create very lifelike dental prosthetics that match the appearance of natural teeth. For many people, the CEREC machine offers a more effective and efficient alternative to traditional methods of making dental prosthetics. Thanks to its accuracy and precision, the CEREC machine is quickly becoming the preferred choice for many dentists and patients alike.

It works by using a rotating diamond-tipped cutting tool to mill away small amounts of the material. The machine is controlled by a computer, which allows it to create very intricate designs. The CEREC machine is an essential tool for many industries, including the medical field, where it is used to create implants and prosthetics.

It is also used in the manufacturing of electronic components and in the production of decorative objects. The CEREC machine is a versatile and precise tool that can be used to create a wide variety of products.

The CEREC machine is a state-of-the-art dental prosthetic milling machine that can create very accurate and detailed dental prosthetics. This means that they will fit more comfortably and look more natural than prosthetics made with traditional methods.

In addition, the CEREC machine is much faster than traditional methods, so it can save time in the dental office. The main benefit of using the CEREC machine is that it can create very accurate and detailed dental prosthetics.

CAD/CAM dentistry is a cutting-edge technology that is revolutionising the way dental prosthetics are made. With CAD/CAM, dentists can take accurate digital impressions of a patient’s teeth and then use special software to design custom restoration appliances.

Then, using a milling machine, the restoration can be created directly from the digital file. This entire process can be done in a single visit, which is much more convenient for patients. In addition, CAD/CAM allows for greater precision and accuracy than traditional methods, resulting in better fitting and more natural-looking dental prosthetics.

Ultimately, CAD/CAM represents the future of dentistry, and it is poised to have a major impact on the oral health of people all over the world.

Dental implants are a popular solution for people missing one or more teeth. Unlike dentures or bridges, which rest on the gums, implants are surgically placed into the jawbone. Once in place, the implants fuse with the bone and provide a strong foundation for artificial teeth. Dental implants are made of titanium, a material that is well-tolerated by the body.

Most people who receive dental implants experience no problems with them whatsoever. In fact, many people say that they forget they even have them! Additionally, because they look and function just like natural teeth, dental implants can help you feel confident and comfortable in your smile.

With proper care, they can also last a lifetime. If you are considering dental implants, be sure to consult with a qualified implant dentist to discuss your options.
